Megan Malvern
Secretary
Megan Malvern is a longtime Lower Manhattan resident with a strong commitment to neighborhood advocacy and community engagement. She serves as Secretary of the Battery to Bridges Coalition, working to advance greater public access, connectivity, resiliency, and community involvement along the Lower Manhattan waterfront.
For more than a decade, Megan has been actively involved in Lower Manhattan public schools, serving in PTA leadership roles including President, Vice President, and Secretary. Through that work, she has advocated for students and families and worked closely with school communities, local organizations, and public officials on issues affecting families and the broader neighborhood.
Professionally, Megan spent more than 15 years in broadcast journalism, writing, and television production. Her background in journalism and communications informs her approach to community advocacy, particularly in communicating complex issues, bringing together different perspectives, and building public engagement around shared priorities.
Megan holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Rowan University.
