Andrew Zelter
Board Member
Andrew Zelter is a longtime resident of Lower Manhattan and a community leader with a particular commitment to youth sports, public space, and building strong neighborhood institutions. A longtime volunteer with Downtown Little League, he previously served as President and continues to serve on its Executive Committee. Downtown Little League provides organized baseball and softball for children ages 5–17, giving young people opportunities to develop teamwork, sportsmanship, responsibility, and a sense of community.
Zelter has served on Manhattan Community Board 1 since 2014 and currently chairs its Waterfront, Parks & Cultural Committee. In that role, he works on issues involving Lower Manhattan’s waterfront, parks, recreational opportunities, and cultural resources, with a particular interest in ensuring that public spaces serve the needs of the community. He is also currently a member of Hudon River Park Trust’s Advisory Council.
Through his civic and youth-sports work, Zelter combines practical leadership with a longstanding commitment to creating opportunities for children and families and ensuring that Lower Manhattan’s parks, waterfront, and recreational spaces remain vibrant community assets.
